Visegrád trout – forest restaurant in the heart of the botanical garden
There is always a reason for a nice excursion in Visegrád. However, if you had no idea until now about the existence of the trout-lakes, well, now there is one more reason to go. “The beautiful surroundings are a given to begin with, then there is the picturesque landscape, and finally, there is a restaurant with a huge terrace in the summer and a cosy, crackling fireplace in the winter” – this is how the Ízes Élet (Tasty Life) blog describes Ördögmalom (Devil’s Mill) Restaurant, the truly unique services of which we highly recommend to everyone!
The forest restaurant was opened in the Apátkút-valley in the spring of 2011. First and foremost, they proudly dazzle their guests – mostly exhausted tourists and bikers – with their trout and game specialties. Next to the usual restaurant menu, they also thought of vegetarians: the chef is a true master of a variety of special ways to prepare forest mushrooms! One of the specialties of the restaurant is their locally smoked trout, which you can also take away wrapped in vacuum foil.
As of March, the trout lakes will also be open to tourists, so guests can catch their own fish and ask the restaurant to prepare and serve them, among others, in garlicky tomato or almond sauce, wrapped in bacon, or Kárpáti style.
